On June 1, the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Artem Lysogor, visited Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which is partly located in the city of Lubny.
The working visit of the new head of the Luhansk region was dedicated to the International Children’s Day – a national holiday designed to draw public attention to children’s problems, respect for children’s rights and health care, and to preserve and secure their future.
The delegation included Deputy Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Kateryna Bezginska, Head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Regional State Administration Anton Volokhov, Head of the Service for Children of the Regional State Administration Raisa Rodina, Director of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the International Charitable Organization “SOS Children’s Villages” Liudmyla Kharchenko and others.
Artem Volodymyrovych was met in Lubny by the Chairman of the Lubny City Council Oleksandr Hrytsaenko together with representatives of local authorities. Since LTSNU bears the name of Taras Shevchenko, Oleksandr Hrytsaenko presented the university with his symbol and talisman – a restored bust of the great Kobzar of the Ukrainian people.
The head of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Vitalii Kurylo and rector of the university Olena Karaman introduced Artem Lysogor to the work of LTSNU and achievements in educational, scientific, sports and artistic activities.
In order to commemorate the meeting, Vitalii Semenovych presented his book “Essays of Luhansk Region” to Artem Lysogor, Kateryna Bezginska and Oleksandr Hrytsaenko.
The Director of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the International Charitable Organization “SOS Children’s Villages” together with Artem Volodymyrovych and the management and representatives of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University opened a sensory play room, which is now located in one of the university’s auditoriums. Trainers and psychologists from the “SOS Children’s Villages” Charitable Foundation, who conducted classes with internally displaced children from the Luhansk region, were present in the room. The children were pleased with the appearance of such a room and were sincerely grateful for the gifts that were given to them.
After the ceremonial opening of the sensory room, a meeting was held with the winners, prize-winners of all-Ukrainian and international competitions, the awarding of which was attended by Anton Volokhov, head of the Department of Youth and Sports. Students and teachers of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, world and European champions, were awarded.
