Center on the Problems of Social Pedagogy and Social Work
Since 2005, a research center on the problems of social pedagogy and social work of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine has been successfully functioning at the university (Director – Karaman O.L., Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor).
In 2018, the scientists of the Center worked on the theme: “Socialization of children and youth of eastern Ukraine in the context of the hybrid war in Donbas”.
The scientific novelty is that for the first time the theoretical and technological foundations of socialization of children and young people of the east of Ukraine in the conditions of hybrid war in Donbas have been scientifically substantiated and developed; identification and characterization of social and individually-psychological factors of aberrant socialization of personality in the conditions of hybrid war in the east of Ukraine; disclosure of the social-psychological-pedagogical aspects of hybrid war as a relatively new phenomenon in the contemporary realities of Ukraine; determining the specific process of socialization of children and youth of the eastern region of Ukraine in the conditions of hybrid war in Donbas; disclosure of social and psychological and pedagogical features of children and youth who have fallen victim to unfavorable socialization conditions in the context of hybrid war in the eastern Ukraine; theoretical substantiation of social and pedagogical support of the process of socialization of children and youth of the eastern Ukraine in the conditions of hybrid war in Donbas as a type of social and pedagogical activity; development of a theoretical model of technology of social and pedagogical support of the process of socialization of children and young people in the conditions of hybrid war in the east of Ukraine.
The practical significance of the results is that the technology of social and pedagogical support for the process of socialization of children and young people in the conditions of hybrid war in the east of Ukraine has been developed and implemented through the implementation of the content, forms and methods of complex social, pedagogical, psychological work aimed at successful socialization, self-realization in the conditions of hybrid war in the east of Ukraine.
The results cover new categories of children and young people: internally displaced people, temporarily occupied territories, military personnel participating in hostilities.
The results of research and development are used in the educational process with students of the educational-scientific institute of pedagogy and psychology; educational and scientific work with students of specialties 01 Education / Pedagogy, 23 Social work, 053 Psychology.
The implementation of the International project “Family and Child Support Program“ SOS Children’s Town ”(International Charitable Organization SOS-Kinderdorf International, Austria) continues. In July 2018, a memorandum was signed between the Hunting Association “SOS Children’s Towns” and the Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration on cooperation in the field of protection of children’s rights. Within the framework of the memorandum, scientific and methodological support was provided for the activities of three family support centers in Starobilsk, Stanichno-Luhansk districts and Severodonetsk, Luhansk oblast.
May 6 – 16, 2018 Associate Professor Kharchenko L.G. presented the experience of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the SOS Children’s Town Charity International Charitable Foundation in providing comprehensive support to families with children in armed conflict was presented in Austria (Vienna, Innsbruck).
June 3 – 16, 2018 Associate Professor S. Tuntueva – three two-day trainings were held with the participation of 54 people from Iasi, Timisoara, Sfintu Gheorghe (Romania) and methodological assistance was provided to identify and prevent child abuse.
On June 7 – 8, 2018, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Personal Socialization in the Current Challenges” was held.
According to the results of the study, 2 monographs were published (1 in English), 12 articles (1 – in foreign publication), 1 abstract. As part of the work on the research topic of the Center, 1 Ph.D. thesis was defended.
