«Quality Management of Education»

Since 2001 the University has been operating a research center “Quality Management of Education” (jointly with the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine) (Director – S.V. Savchenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Rector).

The main purpose of the Center is to find the best ways of development and functioning of higher education, to introduce the achievements of pedagogical science in the educational process in the I-IV levels of accreditation, to generate and approve modern pedagogical theories and technologies, to develop conceptual ideas for further development of higher education.

In 2018, the Center scientifically substantiated and experimentally tested the theoretical and methodological foundations of monitoring the quality of the educational process in higher education. The result of substantiation of theoretical foundations was the clarification of the concept of monitoring the quality of the educational process, the development of a theoretical model for monitoring the quality of the educational process, a generalized model of the graduate, an internal standard for quality assurance in education. The result of substantiation of the methodological principles of monitoring the quality of the educational process was the development of monitoring procedures (criteria, forms, methods, stages) of monitoring and its methodological and information support; theoretical and methodological foundations for modeling the strategic development of the university are developed.

The practical value of the results is the willingness to use them in the higher education system, which will allow monitoring of the educational process in the modern conditions of combining full-time and part-time forms of education with distance learning based on the use of theoretical model of monitoring the quality of the educational process in the Higher education institution and its regulatory and educational methodological and informational support; to develop a university development strategy based on the use of domestic and foreign experience and various models of strategic development of Higher education institution.

The value of results for educational work is as follows:

– the content of the preparation of the undergraduate students in the specialties Educational, Pedagogical Sciences (specialization “Pedagogy of Higher Education”), Management (specialization “Management of the educational institution”) was made by introducing lectures and practical classes on the theory and technology of monitoring the educational process;

– 2 distance learning centers were supported; 2 distance learning sites using the Moodle e-platform;

– The work of the Electronic University platform in the Ukrainian segment of cyberspace was supported: LNU.UKR, which provides support to the educational process at the university on the basis of information technologies of education – registration of students, creation of computer tests, testing, etc.

– 2 information systems (own databases) were constantly being filled: repository; electronic library (including the library site: http://libr.luguniv.edu.ua/).

International Scientific and Practical Conference “Higher Education Quality Assurance: European and National Standards and Indicators” was held (November 15 – 16, 2018, Starobilsk), according to its results, a collection of scientific works was published

The Regional Scientific-Practical Conference “Theory and Practice of Management Activity in the Conditions of Socio-Cultural Transformations” was held (April 26, 2018), which covered the issues of state management of the development of educational institutions at the regional level, ensuring monitoring of the quality of education in Ukraine at the state level, etc.

According to the results of the study, 15 articles were published in publications with impact factors, 23 articles and 5 abstracts.
