Scientific Activity
Teachers of Department of Romance and Germanic Philology work on complex subject “Research of System Functional and Cognitive Pragmatical Attributes of Romance and Germanic Languages as Implementer of Effective Intercultural Communication under the Conditions of Globalisation of Educational Scientific Space”. Within this subject English, German, Spanish and French languages are considered from the standpoints that define tendencies of modern linguistics development taking into account the problems related to language anthropocentricity. Department of Romance and Germanic Philology actively cooperates with “German Cultural and Language Centre” – partner of Goethe Institute (Director of Centre is Senior Lecturer of Department V. R. Buduratska). Due to this Centre, Department shares experience with leading specialists of Centre of German Learning of Goethe Institute and language centres in Ukraine.
Scientific researches of Department of World Literature and Russian Linguistics are performed in the following directions: “Comparative Literary Studies and Genre and Style Originality of World Literature”; “Modern Literary Process: Genres, Character Typology”; “Literary Regional Study (Works of V. Dahl, V, Harshyn, M. Matusovskyi, H. Haivoronska, etc.)”; “Regional Component of Literary Education, Development and Implementation of the Newest Pedagogical Technologies”; “Russian Emigre Community Literature of XIX – XXI centuries”. Also the teachers develop complex department subject “Studying Russian and Ukrainian Literature of XIX – XX centuries within a Context of World Literature Process”.
Department of East Languages performs scientific activity in several national scientific subjects: “Modern Educational Technologies in Methodological Training of Students-Philologists for Intercultural Communication”, “Innovations in Language Multicultural Education”. Besides that, for several years Department has been working on scientific project “Culture of Nations Whose Languages We Study”. Also department teachers work on complex department research “Formation of Multicultural Tolerance in the Course of Studying Foreign Languages at Universities: Experience of Ukraine and East Countries”.
Department of Theory and Practice of Translation makes researches in the following directions: “Discursive and Pragmatic Aspects of Translation”, “Methods of Teaching Translation”, “Methods of Foreign Language Teaching of Students of Non-Linguistics Specialities”. Within complex department subject “Discursive and Pragmatic Aspects of Translation” department teachers consider problems of intercultural communication, methodological and sociolinguistic problems of translation.
