Events Dedicated to the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Day
Today LNU structural subdivisions have conducted the events dedicated to the Heavenly Hundred Remembrance Day.
So, a number of events have taken place at Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The meeting has provided information on establishing the Heavenly Hundred Remembrance Day and on a decree of the President of Ukraine “On Commemorate the Feat of the Participants of the Revolution of Dignity and Perpetuate the Memory of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred”.
According to the decree of the President of Ukraine “On Commemorate the Feat of the Participants of the Revolution of Dignity and Perpetuate the Memory of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred” as of February, 2015, every year Ukraine celebrates the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Day on February 20. The Revolution of Dignity or Euro Revolution was from November 2013 to February 2014. 20 February is the Heavenly Hundred Remembrance Day because 67 people died at that day in Kyiv. They came to assert their own rights and the rights of all Ukrainian people. Their thoughts and wishes were sincere, their hearts did not know a feeling of fear. We must remember that courage people: Pavlo Mazurenko, Serhii Nihoian who was just 20, Yurii Verbytkyi, Viacheslav Syr, Mykhailo Zhysnevskyi, Vasyl Moisei, Serhii Baidovskyi, Ivan Tarasiuk and others.
Students have been told that they had been the future of Ukraine. By their knowledge and achievements they should develop its culture, love native land, protect freedom and independence of Ukraine, respect native people and mother tongue.
Students have noted that despite all sorrow, everybody wished the same thing – peace, calm, strong and going country and peaceful skies.
The event has been ended with a moment of silence and performance of state anthem of Ukraine.
