Valentine’s Day at the Faculty of Foreign Languages
On February 12 Faculty of Foreign Languages organized celebration of Saint Valentine’s Day. Students, teachers and guests attended the event.
Faculty Dean Ivan Mykhailovych Karpenko congratulated everybody on the holiday, told about faculty and its departments. Presenters Liudmyla Ovcharova and Alla Bondar told about holiday traditions, history and symbols. There was a contest among the readers and singers. Honorary judges – Svitlana Oleksandrivna Shekhavtseva, Svitlana Viacheslavivna Perova and Ivan Mykhailovych Karpenko – awarded the winners with certificates. Iryna Liubas told about Saint Valentine’s Day in France, Karyna Babaiants and Iryna Skliarova introduced the traditions in Germany and Daria Hrunenko guided through the holiday in Spain.
Everyone enjoyed the performances by the third-year students Liubov Orlova, Natalia Volkova, Liudmyla Ovcharova and Alina Katrenko. They presented their author’s translations of Shakespeare’s Sonnets. Anastasia Haponova, Yuliia Kutsa and Iryna Skliarova gave wonderful amorous song vocal.
The first-year students Yana Nenia, Olha Klimchuk and Daria Hudilenkova declaimed English love poems and proverbs.
Liia Verkhova sensationally performed a ballad “Don’t Part with the Ones you Love”.
The winners were awarded with the honorary certificates:
1 place – Anastasia Haponova
2 place – Liia Verkhova and Natalia Volkova
3 place – Yuliia Kutsa, Olha Klimchuk and Iryna Skliarova
