Results of the illustration contest
On March 12, the winners of the contest of illustrations for Taras Shevchenko’s works were awarded on the occasion of the 205th anniversary of the artist’s birth.
32 creative works were submitted for participation in the competition. Their authors are students of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts; the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism; the Faculty of Natural Sciences; the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College; College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University; Lysychansk Pedagogical College; the Brianka College.
The participants of the competition traditionally turned to the most famous Taras Shevchenko’s poems, created the images of the iconic characters of Taras Shevchenko, embodied the color works.
In determining the winners, the jury members took into account the originality of the interpretation of the literary work and the perfection of performance. The illustrators demonstrated creativity in the artistic solution of works and mastery of various drawing techniques: oil, acrylic paints, gouache, watercolor, pencil, pen, etc. The participants also used appliqué and clipping, which were unusual for illustrations.
The first place was awarded to a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Servicing Technologies and Tourism Anastasia Katrushenko for the work “Мені тринадцятий минало” (I was thirteen) with her virtuoso graphics.
The second place was taken by Viktoria Koziy, a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts. Her work professionally made with oil paints on canvas.
The third place was shared by students of the Brianka College Denis Vishchenko with the illustration “Червоний місяць аж горить” (The red moon is still alight) and Halyna Oliinyk with the work “Попрощалось ясне сонце” (The sun was clear).
The work “Lilea” by the student of the Lysychansk Pedagogical College Alina Ustimenko was awarded for the originality of the technique of making the illustration.
