A workshop for students majoring in “Primary Education” was held at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.

The updated State Standard of General Primary Education provides for the formation of civic and historical competencies of primary schoolchildren, which entails the formation of their personal identity and readiness for innovations through the formation of respect for others, a tolerant attitude to cultural diversity and differences of opinion, acquisition of interaction experience and cooperation.

Based on this, the Department of Preschool and Primary Education continues to work with students majoring in “Primary Education”, preparing them to implement the ideas of the New Ukrainian School in practice. So, teachers (Ph.D., Senior Lecturer S.N. Bezborodykh, Assistant I.A. Grechishkina), who are certified master trainers in the field of education in the democratic society and education on human rights and the development of civil competencies held a workshop on the theme “Forming civic competencies of future primary school teachers in the framework of the implementation of the NUS ideas”.

Future specialists had the opportunity to learn about the essence of such key concepts as democracy, citizenship, equality, rights and opportunities. The interactive exercises turned out to be interesting, which were full of the seminar and which can be integrated into the educational process of the initial level.

The students and teachers kept positive impressions of the seminar during the day.
