Day of the State Flag of Ukraine
The teachers, staff and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the regional celebrations dedicated to the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine.
The national flag is a symbol of the centuries-old history of the Ukrainian state, the freedom-loving spiritual power of our people and the unity of generations. The special significance was given to the banner during military events in the East of Ukraine, and became a symbol of a free, invincible person. The yellow-blue colors of the flag have become for every Ukrainian an occasion for respect and pride.
The district celebrations in the city of Starobilsk began with a solemn ceremony of raising the National Flag of Ukraine in the central square of the city. After greeting those present on the state holiday, the best executive committees of the district were awarded “For High Achievements”.
The people’s deputy of Ukraine, chairman of the Supervisory Council of LTSNU Vitalii Semenovych Kurylo addressed the present people with a welcoming speech. “Our Ukrainian flag is a kind of irritant for our enemies, because it is a testament to disobedience and a symbol of independent and free Ukraine,” – the people’s deputy said.
The pupils of the Starobilsk District House of Children and Youth Creativity performed a patriotic dance-composition on the main square of the city, which created a festive and uplifting mood.
At the end of the meeting, solemn laying of flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko took place.
The Celebration of the Flag allows us to once again realize the invincibility of the Ukrainian spirit and pride for our Motherland. Unite around traditions and be proud of state symbols! Congratulations!
