Results of the Photo Contest
The results of the contest “My Family is in Vyshyvanka” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of National Vyshyvanka Day were summed up at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
National Vyshyvanka Day is a holiday of national unity, which this year falls on 19 May. Today, on the 10th day of the All-Ukrainian Vyshyvanka Day, the results of the photo contest “My Family is in Vyshyvanka” were announced.
More than 40 works participated in the competition. The organizing committee included: Oleksandr Meniailenko, Galyna Komirenko, Hanna Bugaevskaya, Volodymyr Moroz, Yulia Tretyakova, Anna Zvereva, Olena Esaulova. The competition commission announced the winners for the best scene and creative approach.
The first place was taken by the family of Dmytro Kovalev, Pro-rector on Administrative Work of LTSNU for the photo “The Family”.
The second place was given to Alina Omelchenko, vice-director on educational work of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports and to Natalia Dzyuba – a student of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology for the photo “Keeper of Our Nation.”
The third place was divided between two works: the photo “Under the Blue Peaceful Sky” by Sophia Livatska, a pupil of the sixth form of Starobilsk secondary school of II-III degree No. 2 and the photo “Waiting for a Miracle” by Oksana Mikheeva – an employee of the Center of Information Technologies.
The Jury also noted the academic group of the second course of specialty “Physical Education” in the nomination “Creative Team” for the photo: “We Have Embroidered Shirts; We are the Ukrainians and It is Super!”
Participants vividly depicted a special national tradition through their embroidered shirts. The winners were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes.
“The contest, dedicated to vyshyvanka, is held at the University for the first time, but it joined students, staff and residents of the idea of revival of national culture. I hope that this will become a good tradition at the university,” – the Chairman of the competition committee, Pro-rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Meniailenko mentioned.
