Participation in the celebration of Victory Day
On May 9, LTSNU participated in the celebration of the Victory Day over Nazism in World War II.
The war ended many years ago. Now we have a new generation of people, but events of World War II continue to excite our hearts. All we have maintained and carried through the years the grateful memory of those who defended us, rescued from the Nazis, brought peace to the nations.
After the celebration in the city square, a column of representatives of labor collectives, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans of Afghanistan, Ukraine’s defenders moved to the park of culture and rest at the memorial of Eternal Glory. The teachers, staff and students of the Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University participated in the column.
The chairman of Starobilsk district administration Anatoly Ivanovych Garkavy, deputy chairman of the regional organization of veterans of Ukraine, honorary veteran of Ukraine Yuri Vasylyovych Yunyk, deputy commander of the military-tactical group “Luhansk”, lieutenant colonel Simonchuk Volodymyr Volodymyrovych, the Chairman of the Supervisory Council of LTSNU Vitalii Semenovych Kurylo and the pupil of 11th form of Starobilsk gymnasium Egor Korsunov expressed the Words of gratitude to veterans and congratulations on Victory Day.
The representatives of the district administration, district and city councils, businesses, organizations and residents of Starobilschyna laid the garlands and flowers as a sign of undying memory of the heroism of the soldiers-liberators to the Eternal flame, Stella Fame and Bed of Honor.
The 71-th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in World War II has passed. Times and generations change. But the memory of the terrible events of that war will always live in our hearts.
